studied sound engineering at the Music Academy in Warsaw, gaining a diploma in 1985. She worked as a sound recording specialist for the WIFON label (1985-89) and as sound engineer at Polish Radio (1989-95). She also pursued a teaching career, lecturing at the Music Academy in Warsaw (1985-2005). She holds a doctorate in sound engineering.
In 1992 she founded, with Lech Tołwiński, DUX Recording Producers, which specializes in Polish music of all periods. At present DUX is Poland's largest classical music label. Its catalogue includes over 500 CDs, many of which have received Polish and foreign awards (Diapason d'Or, Grand Prix du Disque, 'Fryderyk' Award of the Polish recording industry, the award of the Polish Ministry of Culture).
Małgorzata Polańska is a member of ZPAV (Audio-Video Producers Society), WTM (Warsaw Music Society), SPAM (Polish Musicians' Association) and the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Society.
She has taken part in many international conferences and symposia.
