Success of the Polish participants of the 3rd International Composition Competition 'Future Symphony' in Vilnius

polmicDuring the final concert of the 3rd International Composition Competition for Symphony Orchestra on the 9th of September, 2022 in Vilnius, second prizes were awarded ex aequo to composers from Katowice: Przemysław Scheller and Roman Czura.

Two orchestral compositions by Polish composers were performed at the Lithuanian Philharmonic in Vilnius: Beyond the Threshold by Przemysław Scheller and Black is Black by Roman Czura. For Czura, it was a return to the Lithuanian stage after the 3rd prize won in the Competition in 2020. This time, the organizers extended the formula, offering participants to model a symphony orchestra by a possibility of including instruments such as a saxophone, accordion or an electric guitar in the ensemble. There was also an opportunity to write a piece with a narrator - the only such score, Was auch geschieht by Jasper de Bock, won.

The international jury consisted of: Mārtiņš Viļums, Yannis Kyroakides, Justė Janulytė, Modestas Pitrėnas, Gediminas Gelgotas, Ayal Adler.

Congratulations to all Laureates!
