The world premiere of FreDro - a poem for a children's choir, symphony orchestra and puppet actors by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska with a libretto by Karolina Jefmańska is undoubtedly the most important musical event of 2023 with the participation of the Children's Choir of the Sudecka Philharmonic. A musical story for children told by children on the 2nd of December, 2023 at 6.00 p.m. in Wałbrzych.
It is an unusual story, presented from the perspective of children, about man's selfish actions in nature, about human vices and positive traits. The literary basis of the work is, as the title of the poem indicates, characters from the texts, fairy tales and dramas of Aleksander Fredro, whose 230th birthday we celebrate this year. The composition will be performed by the Sudecka Philharmonic Children's Choir led by Anna Kupczyńska, puppet actors - Piotr Starczak and Aneta Głuch-Klucznik, and the Sudecka Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny.
The FreDro poem was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Cultural Promotion Fund as part of the "Composer's Commissions" programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
