Ludomir Różycki "Young Poland" Festival – 1st edition

I Festiwal Młoda Polska im. Ludomira Różyckiego 1st edition of the Ludomir Różycki "Young Poland" Festival will be held between September 9 and October 28, 2016 at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and Lower Silesia Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra.

Young Poland movement was a trend in Polish art and literature in the years 1890-1918, which activated diverse group of early 20th-century Neoromantic artists brought together in reaction against Naturalism, Positivism, and all mainstream bourgeois tastes of the day. One of the representatives in the field of music was Ludomir Różycki, who has been chosen as the patron of newly established Festival.

The programme features works of 20th-century Polish and foreign composers (including Karol Szymanowski, Mieczysław Karłowicz, Zygmunt Noskowski, Witold Rudziński, Bolesław Szabelski, Romuald Twardowski, Sławomir Kaczorowski, Gustav Mahler, Ottorino Respighi, Béla Bartók) performed by the Lower Silesia Philharmonic Orchestra (under the baton of Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Jerzy Swoboda, Sławomir Kupczak, Tomasz Bugaj and Szymon Makowski), Szymon Krzeszowiec, Roman Lasocki, Dominik Połoński, Silesian Quartet and Zagan Acoustic.
