On the 13th of March in Philadelphia a funeral of George Crumb will take place. The composer died on the 2nd of February 2022 in Media, Pennsylvania at 92.
He was one of the most important 20th century composers. His music exceeds the standard meanings of sound structures. He works on culture archetypes, refers to poetical symbols, directs his attention to the sphere of cosmic universum. Since the seventies performances of George Crumb’s compositions have always been significant events in the Warsaw Autumn’s programme.
