Opole | 'Star Zone': History lesson

POLMICMedia patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC

On the 3rd of June, 2022 at 7.00 p.m., the Opole Philharmonic conducted by Przemysław Neumann will present works by Niccolò Paganini, Ludomir Różycki and Mieczysław Karłowicz. The solo part will be performed by Mariusz Patyra - the first Pole to win the prestigious Niccolò Paganini competition in Genoa in 2001.

The first part of the concert will feature Paganini’s virtuoso Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major, Op. 6. In the second part of the evening we will hear two compositions for a symphony orchestra. As part of the ‘Star Zone’ series, we will hear the symphonic poem Bolesław the Bold, Op. 8 by Ludomir Różycki and Lithuanian Rhapsody Op. 11 Mieczysław Karłowicz.
