Concert on the 29th of September, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Silesian Philharmonic will be a herald of the upcoming 11th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors. Relationships with the Patron of the Competition will be reflected in the programme.

Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yaroslav Shemet, who will be a member of the jury in November, will perform works by Karol Szymanowski, Stanisław Skrowaczewski - honorary chairman of the jury of the 7th Fitelberg Competition, as well as the 7th Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, which will effectively conclude this musical meeting.

The concert will open with Karol Szymanowski's Concert Overture in E major - the first orchestral piece written by him, premiered in 1906 by Grzegorz Fitelberg. A few years later, the Patron of the International Conductors' Competition, together with Szymanowski, prepared a new instrumentation of the work - a version that will be played on the 29th of September at the Silesian Philharmonic.
