MAGNIFICAT will be held in two locations - in the church of Holy Family in Bytom-Bobrek (National Choir Competition with workshops conducted by the composer Jan Krutul, whose specially composed work will be performed by all choirs after the announcement of the results) and in the Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Bartholomew in Piekary Śląskie (Festival of Choirs associated in ŚZChiO with workshops of experts of the National Conference MAM GŁOS).

Choirs from all over Poland will compete in the Competition, encouraged by the organizers, and will also use the works of Silesian composers. The organizers have prepared attractive prizes for the winners, including the possibility of organizing a concert at the Academy of Music Karol Szymanowski in Katowice, financial awards and factual.

The festival, on the other hand, is dedicated to active choirs in the structure of ŚZChiO and the faithful audience of music lovers.

The entire event will be accompanied by a photography exhibition organized thanks to cooperation with the Institute of History of the University of Silesia, and prepared by dr hab. Maciej Fica, located on the following days in each of the temples, and allowing you to get acquainted with the history of border towns, which 100 years ago were Bytom-Bobrek and Piekary Śląskie. Then the exhibition will be presented at the Institute of Thought Wojciech Korfanty in Katowice and at the Academy of Music them. Karol Szymanowski in Katowice.

The initiative is financed by a grant from the Marshal's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship, related to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of joining part of Upper Silesia to Poland.
