III. International Chamber Music Festival “Q’arto Mondi”

Międzynarodowy Festiwal Muzyki Kameralnej „Q’artoMondi” 2012The III. International Chamber Music Festival “Q’arto Mondi” under the honorary patronage of Maestro Maxim Vengerov will take place in Poznan at the end of April 2012.

The Festival’s ideology is to introduce a string quartet to the audience of Poznan and present this chamber music formation in a variety of styles and genres. Previous editions featured among others Turtle Island Quartet, Cuarteto Casals, Camerata Quartet, Silesian Quartet, MaciejGrzybowski, Andrzej Bauer and Mieczysław Szcześniak. Diversity of this event’s calendar derives from interesting repertoire proposals and marvelous artists invited by festival’s directors and organizers, the Meccorre String Quartet.

This year’s edition will be held between 21 – 27 April and will feature truemasters of classical and jazz stage, among others Leipziger Streichquartett, a true legend of the classical music world, which discography consists of over 70 cd recordings. Another recital will belong to one of the top quartets of the young generation – Bennewitz Quartet form Prague. Meccorre String Quartet will sharestage with exquisite guests as Friedemann Weigle and Eckart Runge from the Artemis Quartett will join them to perform J. Brahms’ Sextett. Eckart Runge will also perfom with Jacques Ammon their famous „Jazz, Tango Nuevo” Project, which promises unforgettable evening no one should miss. The final concert will introduce Atom String Quartet – a young, polish jazz string quartet, which recently conquered the polish jazz stage.

The Festival’s venues are Aula Nova of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music and “Zamek” Culture Centre. Admission is free for all concerts.
