Podczas jubileuszowej 70. Międzynarodowej Trybuny Kompozytorów wyłoniono dwóch laureatów programu: Rafała Ryterskiego, autora kompozycji “Totentanz” na kontratenora, orkiestrę i elektronikę, zgłoszonej przez Program 2 Polskiego Radia, oraz młodego holenderskiego kompozytora Thomasa van Duna, autora utworu "Rocailles de l’après-vie…" na duży zespół.

Jubileuszowa odsłona flagowego programu Międzynarodowej Rady Muzycznej po raz pierwszy odbyła się na Litwie dzięki LRT Klasika we współpracy ze Związkiem Kompozytorów Litwy. Trybuna 2024 zgromadziła przedstawicieli 21 krajowych rozgłośni radiowych z czterech kontynentów, które zgłosiły 39 utworów. Sesjom współprzewodniczyli Gregor Pirš, dyrektor ds. muzyki programu Ars w Radiu Słowenia, oraz sekretarz IRC Davide Grosso. Po odsłuchaniu utworów gremium wyłoniło najbardziej wyróżniające się dzieła w dwóch kategoriach: ogólnej i kategorii "młodzi kompozytorzy do 30. roku życia”.

“Totentanz” powstał dzięki zamówieniu Festiwalu "Warszawska Jesień". Utwór prawykonali w Filharmonii Narodowej w 2022 roku Michał Sławecki (kontratenor), Adam Kośmieja (fortepian) i Orkiestra Filharmonii Narodowej pod batutą Vimbayi Kaziboni.

On the 28^th of May 2024, the Silesian Philharmonic will host a birthday gala for Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa with the participation of the birthday celebrant - an outstanding composer, pedagogue, conductor and politician, director of cultural institutions, minister of culture and art in 1997-1999.

At 4.30 p.m. in the Chamber Hall, a screening of the film Under Pressure of Sound and Word is scheduled, followed (5.30 p.m.) by a meeting with Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa and the premiere of a CD of the composer’s works. At 19.00, a concert by the Silesian Chamber Orchestra will take place in the Karol Stryja Concert Hall, with a programme prepared by the composer.

On the 25^th of May, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Polish History Museum in Warsaw a concert to celebrate the 110^th anniversary of birth of Andrzej Panufnik, one of the greatest Polish composers of the 20^th century, will take place. Sinfonia Iuventus conducted by Maciej Tomasiewicz and Andrzej Jagodziński Trio (Andrzej Jagodziński, Adam Cegielski and Czesław "Mały" Bartkowski) will perform Andrzej Panufnik's works.

During the evening, Sinfonia rustica, referring to the folk music of the northern regions of our country, and Sinfonia sacra, based on Bogurodzica, a medieval song that is one of the most valuable monuments of old Polish language, will be performed.

The International Festival of the 5^th Night of Choirs will take place in Ruda Śląska on the 25^th of May 2024: this music walk will begin at 5 p.m. on Jan Paweł II Square and will end there at 10 p.m.

The aim of this artistic, educational and social event is not to compete, but to present valuable music to a wide audience. This year's edition will be attended by 26 choirs from Poland and 1 Polish community choir from Belarus.

Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic and the Polish Music Publishing House invite students of first- and second-cycle studies in Musicology, Composition and Music Theory to participate in a review competition. Its subject is to create a review dedicated to Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa's birthday gala. The deadline for submitting applications is the 24^th of May, 2024.

The aim of the competition is:

• promotion and support of students' activities in the field of music criticism, with particular emphasis on works devoted to the performance of works by Polish composers working in the 20^th and 21^st century;
• developing the interest of students of Musicology, Composition and Music Theory in music criticism, in particular in the field of performing Polish music of the 20^th and 21^st
