The second edition of the ClassiX Festival will be held on 5-11 November 2020 at the Brodnica Culture Centre, combining classical, electronic, jazz and contemporary music with modern visual art. Concerts will be broadcast via Facebook, YouTube and Eltronik cable TV.
For four days, the stage of the Brodnica Culture Centre will become a meeting place for outstanding musicians of various specialties, for whom classical music is the starting point for their artistic exploration. The festival will combine sound with image and light. The artist responsible for the visual concept is Bartek Wójcicki – a famous Polish motion designer and VJ.
The final concert will feature twenty-two artists, including Nikola Kołodziejczyk and his Big Band, Konglomerat, Mateusz Smoczyński, Nika Lubowicz and Mat Kwiatkowski, who will take the audience on an extraordinary musical journey through styles and genres. The concert will feature the world premiere of Brodnica Symphony by Mat Kwiatkowski, the artistic director of the Festival. This composition was commissioned by the Mayor of Brodnica on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Brodnica's return to the Motherland. It is a spectacular piece with a classical structure of a 'symphonie concertante' for cello, violin, electronics, female and male voice, and a 19-person big band.
The festival is part of the official celebration of the 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Brodnica. The event is under the Honorary Patronage of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, Piotr Całbecki.
Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.
