Katowice | Program koncertów symfonicznych NOSPR w sezonie 2023/2024

Patronat medialny nad sezonem koncertowym 2022 / 2023 NOSPR sprawuje Polskie Centrum Informacji Muzycznej POLMIC.

NOSPR abonamenty 23To będzie sezon wielkich powrotów i śmiałych kroków naprzód; cenionych dyrygentów i błyskotliwych dyrygentek, przede wszystkim zaś sezon muzyki przełomowej, spektakularnej, barwnej. Wymiana abonamentów odbędzie się w dniach 4–30 czerwca 2023.

Chyba po raz pierwszy w dziejach NOSPR, na przestrzeni jednego sezonu przed orkiestrą staną prawie wszyscy dyrektorzy artystyczni poprzednich czterdziestu lat; odbędą się m.in. spotkania z Antonim Witem, Alexandrem Liebreichem i Lawrencem Fosterem. Pod batutami mistrzów usłyszymy m.in. słynną Piątą Gustava Mahlera, Ósmą Antonína Dvořáka oraz II Koncert fortepianowy Johannesa Brahmsa, którego partię solową wykona sam Garrick Ohlsson.

W tym sezonie zaprezentowana zostanie twórczość utalentowanych kobiet: Almy Mahler, Clary Schumann czy Grażyny Bacewicz. Wielkie dzieła ożywią gesty wybitnych dyrygentek – zarówno wschodzących gwiazd, wśród których znajdzie się m.in. nagrodzona Paszportem „Polityki” Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, jak i postaci o niezachwianej renomie i najwyższej pozycji w muzycznym świecie, takich jak Marin Alsop.

Composition competition ‘A work for carillon and two trumpets’

The Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk announces a composition competition ‘A work for carillon and two trumpets’. The competition is open to students of composition classes at Polish music academies. The deadline for submitting scores is the 11th of June, 2023 (23:59).

Subject of the competition is composing a piece for carillon and two trumpets. Duration of the composition: 4 to 6 minutes. Each composer may submit any number of works. Competition works should be submitted anonymously.

The competition will be settled by the end of June 2023. The winning composition will be premiered during the Gdańsk Carillon Festival 2023. In addition, Head of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk funded the main prize of PLN 1,500 gross for the winners of the competition.

The celebration of the Jubilee of the 35th anniversary of the scientific and artistic activity of the Institute of Music of the University of Rzeszów will be honored by a concert on the 6th of June, 2023 at 19.00 in the Concert Hall of the Institute of Music. Artists associated with the University of Rzeszów will perform: employees, doctoral students, students and graduates, as well as invited guests. Free entrance!

Warsaw | 'Elektro': Electrobots

During the second meeting of the ‘Elektro’ series at the Contemporary Music Space Hashtag Lab on the 6th of June, 2023 at 7 p.m., Michał Górczyński - a clarinetist, composer and performer, will present his musical robots and play a concert with them.

The ‘Warsaw Robot-Duets’ project is, on the one hand, a presentation of the capabilities of machines, and on the other, an attempt to transpose into robots the basic movement that causes sound.

The concert of Michał Górczyński and the robots will be preceded by a conversation with the artist who will reveal the secrets of the devices and software he uses. The project will be led by the curator of the cycle, Prof. Wojciech Błażejczyk.

The 9th Małopolska Academy of Talents is a unique event that will take place on June 25 - July 2, 2023 in Łąck, Małopolska, organized by the ‘Porta Musicae’ Artistic Association. Thanks to the support of the Małopolskie Voivodeship, the organizers have launched a scholarship programme supporting participation in this year's edition. The deadline for submitting applications is the 5th of June.

The Małopolska Academy of Talents consists of music courses for young instrumentalists who want to broaden their musical horizons and improve their skills under the guidance of well-known teachers. Participants have the opportunity to work with them during individual lessons and joint concerts.

This year, the courses will be led by ten teachers: Jan Kalinowski (cello), Gajusz Kęska (piano), Bartłomiej Kominek (piano duos), Piotr Lato (clarinet), Oriana Masternak (violin), Maria Shetty (viola, orchestral studies), Wioletta Strączek (flute), Marek Szlezer (piano), Małgorzata Wasiucionek-Potera (violin), Marek Żebrowski (piano).

During the courses, there will be concerts of teachers and course participants open to the public. Programme of the concerts will be announced. Admission to the concerts of the Malopolska Academy of Talents is free!

Gdańsk | „My way”: concert on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Dariusz Stanisław Wójcika

Dariusz Stanisław Wójcik, as a person particularly distinguished in the field of artistic creation and cultural activity, was awarded the Medal ‘Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis’ by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. On the 3rd of June, 2023 at 18.00 in the Weta Hall of the Main City Hall of Gdańsk (Długi Targ 46/47 street) a jubilee concert will take place on the occasion of the 60th birthday of a well-known Gdańsk artist.

The soloist will be accompanied by the tenor Jacek Szymański and the pianist Rafał Lewandowski, with whom the artist co-creates many artistic projects. The concert will be conducted by Stanisława Grażyńska, a valued propagator of classical music.

Warsaw | Improvisation workshop ‘Tell me a fairy tale' 2023 in Ursynów

On the 3rd of June, 2023 at 11.00 in the Local Activity Center Kłobucka 14 in Warsaw, improvisations will once again take place. The Polish Society for Contemporary Music in cooperation with the Society for the Development of Children's Activity ‘Szansa’ will organize classes there for children aged 3-8 and their parents, during which you will be able to get to know contemporary music and, together with professional musicians, take part in playing with improvisations and books.

The workshops will be led by improvisers: drummer Leszek Lorent, composer and pianist Jarosław Siwiński and double bass player Małgorzata Kołcz. Children will learn various techniques of extracting sound that emphasize its color and dynamic qualities, and will also be able to play the percussion instruments themselves.

Participation in the workshops is free of charge - the number of places is limited, therefore prior registration of participants is required. Classes last about 90 minutes with a short break. Applications can be submitted in two ways:

Katowice | Silesian Quartet: Mieczysław Wajnberg – all string quartets – following a dedication

On the 3rd of June, 2023 at 18.00 NOSPR invites you to a concert of an ensemble that is not afraid of challenges! As part of the project ‘Mieczysław Wajnberg - all string quartets - following a dedication’, the Silesian Quartet will show us how fascinating the world of Weinberg's chamber music is and will present the composer's 10th, 8th and 13th String Quartets.

The Silesian Quartet undertook the monumental task of recording all of Mieczysław Weinberg's string quartets and was awarded the ‘Fryderyk’ this year as well.

In the current season, the Silesian Quartet offers a unique programme of concerts, which was devoted to the presentation of these works in Katowice. The concert will be led by Prof. Marcin Trzęsiok.

Wrocław | 14th Leo Festival

The main role during the 14th Leo Festival on June 1-4, 2023 will be played by the chamber orchestra of the National Forum of Music.

At the inauguration of the Festival, the Leopoldinum Orchestra will perform two works by composers from Poland and Austria - Witold Lutosławski and Heinz Karl Gruber - alongside two timeless symphonies by Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
