Cyprien Katsaris, a French pianist of Cypriot origin, will perform on 7 June 2019 at 7:30pm at the Kraków Philharmonic.

Cyprien Katsaris cooperates with the most famous orchestras in the world as a soloist, he also actively works as a chamber musician. He is the founder of the Katsaris Piano Quintet, acclaimed by both the press and the audiences of the Americas, Europe and Japan. He conducted master classes in New York, Toronto, Salzburg, Mexico, Hong Kong, The Hague and Shanghai. In the years 1977-2007 he was the artistic director of the International Festival in Echternach (Luxembourg). In 1990, the artist sat on the jury of the 12th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. He has received many awards and distinctions, including the UNESCO Artist for Peace (1997). He is a member of the Artists for Peace Association. In 2012, he performed at the Chopin and his Europe Festival in Warsaw. During the concert in Krakow, he will present Piano Concerto in F minor, BWV 1056 by Johann Sebastian Bach and Wanderer-Fantasie, Op. 15 D.760 by Franz Schubert (arrangement by F. Liszt).

The concert will be opened by Witold Lutosławski's Symphonic Variations of 1938, written a year after Lutosławski received a diploma of the Warsaw Conservatory. The piece was premiered by the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw under the direction of Grzegorz Fitelberg. Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss will close the evening. The Kraków Philharmonic Orchesta will perform under Charles Olivieri-Munroe.

The concert is held under the patronage of the PWM Edition as part of the TUTTI.pl project promoting the performances of Polish music.

The concert of the Polish Radio Choir on 13 June 2019 at the NOSPR Chamber Hall in Katowice will be a continuation of the series of musical meetings devoted to the marriage of words and music.

After the concert devoted to Italian Renaissance poetry and the work of Rainer Maria Rilke, the choir will reach for compositions inspired by the achievements of the English poet and playwright William Shakespeare, whose works have stimulated the imagination of composers for over 400 years. Over the centuries, the stylistics and musical language of the artists has changed, but the fascination with poetry has remained unchanged.

This musical diversity will be reflected in the concert's repertoire. The Polish Radio Choir will present three music cycles: by English artist of the early twentieth century Ralph Vaughan Williams, by contemporary composer of Finnish descent Jaakko Mäntyjärvi and a solo cycle by Roger Quilter (Adam Radnicki – bass, Karolina Krupa – piano). The programme of the concert will also include music of Polish artists: Agata Zubel, Maciej Małecki and Paweł Łukaszewski.

The evening devoted to William Shakespeare will be complemented by the recitals of his poetry performed by Radosław Krzyżowski. The Polish Radio Choir will be led by its artistic director, Maria Piotrowska-Bogalecka.

A "Concert for 6 pianos" will take place on 12 June 2019 at 7pm at Ignacy Jan Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz.

The Capella Bydgostiensis Chamber Orchestra will perform next to a piano sextet composed of: Adam Kośmieja, Mariusz Klimsiak, Radosław Kurek, Michał Szymanowski, Paweł Wakarecy and Bartłomiej Wezner. The musicians will present Divertimento F-Dur KV 138 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Concerto for four pianos in A Minor BWV 1065 by Johann Sebastian Bach, Three Pieces in Old Style by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and Six Pianos by Steve Reich.

A premiere of Karol Nepelski's Variations on Global Crowd with quadraphonic electronics, commissioned by the Biennale Warsaw and performed by Gośka Isphording, will take place on 11 June 2019 in TR Warszawa. The programme will also include works by Peter Ablinger, Ángel Faraldo, Ailís Ní Ríain and Jukka Tiensuu.

The new piece of music for amplified harpsichord and sampler composed by Karol Nepelski is a quest for the mood that accompanies mass assemblies in cities all over the world, in which, nevertheless, solidarity or residents’ discontent has led to socio-political changes. The electronic layer of the sampler uses short excerpts of recordings (samples) available on social media, such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter: sounds of the crowd, public concerts, the audio sphere of city meetings and protest moveaments, as well as speeches of leaders, politicians and authority figures. It is a quasi-opera, with the sampler in the role of the human voice (voices of individuals and entire groups of people), and the harpsichord as the accompanying orchestra.

The world premiere of the piece will be entrusted to the internationally-renowned harpsichordist, an outstanding interpreter of contemporary music – Gośka Isphording.

On 9 June 2019 at 6pm, the Association of Polish Musicians invites you to the Crown Tribunal in Lublin for a concert "Moniuszko and French music" as part of the concert series "Fonie Lublina".

Probably every music lover knows what value had Moniuszko's music to Poles in the days of positivism. Due to the use national motifs, attachment to national traditions as well as satirical and comedic sense, Moniuszko's works became a representation of the national belonging to the opressed nation. A slightly different approach to opera was presented at that time in France – a country that was undoubtedly the capital of European culture in the second half of the 19th century. It was there that the most prestigious opera performances were produced, attracting musicians from all over the world.

During the concert "Moniuszko and French music", Stanisław Moniuszko's works will be confronted with the works of French composers of the second half of the nineteenth century. The clash of different ways of perceiving music – Moniuszko's focused on national themes and the French composers' focused on the cosmopolitan values, the power of art and creating new trends – is reflected in the programme of the upcoming concert. Apart from Moniuszko's arias (also in the violin transcriptions), we will listen to the works by Georges Bizet, Charles Gounod and Cesar Franck.
