Lutosławski Quartet’s album nominated for the BBC Music Magazine Award

Lutosławski Quartet - BacewiczAlbum Bacewicz: String Quartets Nos 1, 3, 6 & 7 recorded by the Lutosławski Quartet and released by Naxos received the nomination to the 2016 BBC Music Magazine Awards in the "Chamber Music" category.

Out of over 1,200 recordings reviewed in the magazine during 2015, 21 albums have been deemed the very finest by the specially assembled jury of critics and magazine editorial staff. From Schubert performed by András Schiff to dramatic Smetana played by the Pavel Haas Quartet, the nominations represent an incredible year for the classical music record industry.

By heading to awards.classical-music.com, it is possible to listen to the recordings' excerpts and vote for the favourite ones. Everyone who votes will be able to enter a prize draw to win one of two copies of each of the 21 nominations. Voting closes February 19. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 5 April at Kings Place, and in the May issue of BBC Music Magazine.

Lutosławski Quartet, formed in 2007, performs mainly music of the 20th and 21st centuries, focusing on Polish repertoire, including works by Witold Lutosławski, Karol Szymanowski, and Paweł Mykietyn. The quartet is one of the resident ensembles of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław.
