On June 8, 2018 at 7.00 pm, the Oskar Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic will host the concert "Polyhymnia's Canon", during which the Overture by Grażyna Bacewicz will be performed.
Overture of Grażyna Bacewicz was written in 1943, during the Second World War. Nevertheless, the work strikes with optimism and vitalism. During the concert the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Mateusz Rusowicz will also perform Piano Concerto No. 4 by Ludwig van Beethoven and Symphony No. 4, Op. 120 by Robert Schumann. The star of the evening will be Aleksandra Hortensja Dąbek, winner of many significant competitions, including 7th International Chopin Piano Competition in Budapest in 2016. In the same year, she won the second prize at the Debut International Piano Competition in New York, and also performed for the first time at Carnegie Hall and the Ehrbar Hall in Vienna.
The concert will take place under the patronage of the Polish Music Publishing House as a part of theTUTTI.pl project, promoting performances of Polish music.
