Malta

On June 15-24, 2018, the next edition of the Malta Festival will take place in Poznań. At the Malta festival, music is an equal, next to theater and dance, area of art experience. This year, the program includes over 20 music events: concerts, sound installations and dance parties.

For ten days, Malta's scene at Wolności Square will be a meeting place for musicians from the Polish independent scene. On the night of 16 to 17 June, the NOS trio (Michał Nogaś, Agnieszka Obszańska and Agnieszka Szydłowska) will take us to the dance. On June 19 BARDO (Barbara Kinga Majewska and Bartłomiej Wąsik) will present their new works for voice, piano and electronics, in which they combine popular songs and contemporary music.

There is no shortage of music in the "Generator Malta" programme. A large-scale sound installation by composers from the Academy of Music in Poznań and designers from the School of Form will be situated at Wolności Square.

Our sweet youth, Carousel with Madonnas or Eyes of the little one are just some of the compositions that we will hear during the final, open-air concert "Konieczny ...? Koniecznie!". Legendary pieces by Zygmunt Konieczny, arranged by Cezary Duchnowski, Agata Zubel, Bartłomiej Wąsik and Andrzej Bauer, will be performed by the arrangers long with the Orchestra Collegium F under the baton of Marcin Sompoliński in the Wieniawski Park on June 23.
