Radziejowice | 10th Jerzy Waldorff Summer Festival

Festiwal Waldorffa

The 10th jubilee Jerzy Waldorff Summer Festival will be held between June 30, 2018 and July 7, 2018 in Radziejowice.

For over ten years, the Radziejowice Meetings with Art initiated by Jerzy Waldorff were taking place at the Radziejowice Palace. Janusz Olejniczak, whose interpretations of Fryderyk Chopin's works particularly moved the listeners, has had a special influence on the shape of subsequent editions of the festival. This outstanding pianist will take part in the opening concert of this year's edition. Janusz Olejniczak with the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra will perform Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21 by Fryderyk Chopin. The orchestra under the direction of Andrey Boreyko will also present the Symphony "Rebirth" in E minor, Op. 7 by Mieczysław Karłowicz.

During subsequent evenings we will hear the works of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Wojciech Kilar, Stefan Kisielewski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Karol Szymanowski, Józef Świder and Mieczysław Wajnberg.

Festival evenings will be accompanied by exhibitions: "Metamorphoses" – sculptures from the collections of the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, "Classics of Modernity" – an exhibition of paintings from the collection of the Zachęta Center for Contemporary Art, and an exhibition of photographic portraits from the collections of Maciej Kłoś.

The project is organised as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence. Free admission to all festival events!
