Ogrody

The 18th edition of the "Music Gardens" Festival will take place on June 30 – July 31, 2018 in Warsaw.

The "Music Gardens" Festival, often referred to in the media as the Warsaw Summer Music Salon, has been organised in Warsaw since 2001. It features 30 artistic events each year, including concerts, film screenings and opera and ballet performances. The festival takes place at the Royal Castle in Warsaw in a huge tent with capacity to accommodate 1000 people and attracts nearly 40,000-50,000 people annually.

The central theme changes each year. For the last couple of years it focused on culture and art of the countries currently holding the presidency of the Council of the EU. This year's programme is dominated by Polish music. During the concerts, we will hear works of Fryderyk Chopin, Aleksander Tansman and Zygmunt Krauze. The final concert will be devoted entirely to Polish contemporary music. The Sinfonia Viva orchestra under the baton of Tomasz Radziwonowicz will perform Rhapsod by Zygmunt Krauze, Mandragora by Karol Szymanowski, Music for strings, trumpets and percussions by Grażyna Bacewicz and Orawa by Wojciech Kilar.

The festival also includes a special educational project for children entitled "Children’s Music Gardens".
