Gostyń - Święta Góra | Final of the 13th edition of the "Sacromontana" Festival

Sacro

The final concert of the 13th edition of the "Sacromontana" Oratory Music Festival will take place on October 7, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Święta Góra Sanctuary in Głogówek near Gostyń.

For almost 200 years, Józef Zeidler's works were completely unknown. It was not until the first edition of the Oratory Music Festival "Musica Sacromontana" that this situation changed. Today, the composer born in Gostyń is known as the "unknown Polish Mozart", and his religious works are valued for their transparency, elegance and simplicity. During the concert "Unknown Józef Zeidler", we will hear his Missa ex D. The source materials come from the collections of music manuscripts of the parish ensemble from Grodzisk Wielkopolski. Currently, the composition is kept in the Archdiocesan Archives in Poznań.

The work will be performed by the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Krakow – Sinfonietta Cracovia, Polish Chamber Choir Schola Cantorum Gedanensis and soloists: Iwona Hossa – soprano, Anna Bernacka – mezzo-soprano, Tomasz Krzysica – tenor, Jarosław Bręk – baritone. The musicians under the direction of Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski will also make the premiere recording of Zeidler's composition. The programme of the evening will be complemented by Three pieces in old style for string orchestra by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. Admission to the concert is free.
