This year's edition of the Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki Festival, entitled "Centuries of Independent Culture", is a presentation of the richness of native music and the momentum of artistic ideas born over the centuries of freedom of the Polish nation, i.e. in the century preceding the loss of independence and after its recovery. The 13th edition of the festival will last from November 8 to December 9, 2018, featuring 21 concerts.

Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki International Festival has been consistently building his image for many years through a unique repertoire and the participation of outstanding artists whose concerts are listened to every year by several thousand people. This year's festival will be officially inaugurated on November 8, 2018 at the Chorzów Cultural Center with the participation of the excellent Camerata Silesia Katowice City Singers' Ensemble in their original musical spectacle "Camerata Silesia sings Chopin". The 13th edition promises to be exceptionally spectacular, thanks to the participation of many brilliant artists of international renown.

Characteristically for the Festival, many foreign guests will present Polish music, including works of Grzegorz Gerwazy GorczyckiFryderyk Chopin and Karol Szymanowski as well as masterpieces of world literature by Johann Sebastian Bach, Jerzy Fryderyk Händel, andLudwig van Beethoven. In keeping with the theme "Centuries of Independent Culture", the 13th edition of the Festival will feature many events that will strengthen the national identity and consolidate the Polish cultural heritage, including the anniversary of Polish composers. We will hear the premieres of works by Zygmunt Krauze, Artur Zagajewski and Adam Wesołowski, director of the Festival.
