Odkrywamy

On November 11 – December 12, 2018, the 7th International "Discovering Paderewski" Festival will be held in Kiev and Lviv.

The festival is a unique project carried out by the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Polish-Ukrainian Foundation in Lviv continuously since 2012. The event aims to promote outstanding Polish artists abroad and bridge artistic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine by referring to the figure of Paderewski  – an excellent artist, politician and patriot who links the two countries through his birthplace, Kuryłówka.

This year's edition will be inaugurated by the Polish-Ukrainian co-production of the Manru opera by Ignacy Jan Paderewski at the National Opera in Kiev. On November 16, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic in Lviv conducted by Hobart Earle and pianist Marianna Humetska will present works by Karol Szymanowski, Igor Stravinsky and Borys Latoszyński. The Polish-Ukrainian Youth Orchestra "Paderewski" will perform on November 18. Selected fragments of Historical Songs arranged by Krzesimir Dębski will be presented at the Lviv Opera Theater on November 26. The finale of the Festival will be the premiere of the Manru opera in the famous building of the Lviv Opera House.
