The Senate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in the ruling of May 15, 2018 decided to give the Senate Hall the name of Ignacy Jan Paderewski. The ceremony took place on November 8, 2018 at 12.00 p.m., during an extraordinary meeting of the UMFC Senate.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Poland's regaining its independence, the Chopin University Press published an unusual publication: a facsimile edition of selected manuscripts of Ignacy Jan Paderewski – a great pianist, composer, and charismatic statesman.

The manuscripts come from a collection owned by the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. The collection consists of works written between 1879 and 1898. These are mostly piano compositions, but also violin, chamber, orchestral and vocal pieces. There are many sketches and rough copies as well as completed manuscripts.

Rector of the FCUM, prof. dr hab. Klaudiusz Baran emphasizes: "A facsimile edition of selected manuscripts of Ignacy Jan Paderewski on the 100th anniversary of regaining independence, and on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the nationalisation of the Warsaw Institute of Music and its rename as the State Conservatory of Music, with Paderewski's active participation as prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of the Second Polish Republic, Fryderyk Chopin University of Music pays homage to the Great Pole, whose legacy is part of the world's cultural heritage.
