Sanok | 14th International Piano Forum „Bieszczady without boundaries”

On 3-8 February 2019, Sanok will become a winter capital of piano music thanks to the 14th International Piano Forum "Bieszczady without borders". The theme of this year's edition is "200-years of the history of Polish music".

The International Piano Forum "Bieszczady without borders" is one of the largest educational and social projects in the Carpathian Euroregion, organized by the Podkarpacka Foundation for the Developement of Culture. The Forum is a valuable educational proposal for young pianists, which mainly focuses on the exchange of knowledge and artistic experiences, cooperation in a spirit of tolerance around common interests and passions. In February, Sanok will host around 450 participants from several European countries. The Forum programme includes: two concert tours in the cities of Podkarpacie region, demonstration lessons, lectures and exercises as part of the Master School of Piano Pedagogy, a "Young Virtuoso" competition for children and a scientific conference "The role of cultural institutions in the development of an innovative society".

The programme of concerts, in accordance with the theme, includes works by Fryderyk Chopin and Ignacy Jan Paderewski, as well as two events dedicated to the memory of eminent pianists: "Ryszard Bakst in memoriam" and "Tatiana Shebanova in memoriam", in which Boris Bloch and Lidia Grychtołówna will take part. During the Final Gala candidates for the Chopin Competition will perform.
