On 15 February 2019 at 7.00 p.m., during a Friday symphonic concert at the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic in Olsztyn, we will listen to a recently discovered piece by Maurycy Moszkowski, a composer of Polish origin.

Piano concerto in B minor, Op. 3, written by the pianist and composer born in Wrocław, will be performed together with one of the most popular compositions by Johannes Brahms – Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73. The Symphony Orchestra of the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic will be led by a guest from Austria – Vladimir Kiradjiev, while the pianist Ludmil Angelov, born in Bulgaria and now living in Spain, will perform as a soloist.

Angelov is a laureate of many international piano competitions. He took part in the most important Chopin festivals in Europe, including the "Chopin and His Europe" Festival in Warsaw, and his recording of Chopin's rondos and variations was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque Chopin by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw. He was a member oj jury at the international competitions, including the Chopin Competition in Warsaw (2010 and 2015). Among the recordings for global record labels, Angelov registered with the Scottish BBC Symphony Orchestra the world premiere of Piano Concerto in B minor, Op.3 by Maurycy Moszkowski. The piece was discovered eight years ago at the National Library in Paris, and the pre-premiere of the concerto took place in Warsaw in January 2014. The same soloist and conductor who premiered the piece will present it on February 15 in the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic.

Before the concert, at 6.00 p.m., musicologist Jan Popis (Warsaw) invites to the introduction to the Friday concert, which will take place in the chamber hall of the Philharmonic (2nd floor).
