Polish musicologist, journalist, publicist, and music critic Stanisław Dybowski died at the age of 72 on March 25, 2019.
He graduated from the Institute of Musicology at the University of Warsaw. From 1972 he worked at the Fryderyk Chopin Society, and in the years 1978-1993 at the "WIFON" label.
Since 1970 he published circa 1000 concert reviews and articles in newspapers and periodicals such as: „Słowo Powszechne”, „Ruch Muzyczny”, „Kierunki”, „Studio”, „Nasz Dziennik”, „Nasz Głos”, „Muzyka21”. He was also writing concert programme notes for the Warsaw Philharmonic. He was an author of many radio broadcasts for the Polish Radio (circa 1000 broadcasts since 1970, including such series as „Antologia sonaty fortepianowej”, „Wielcy wykonawcy”, „Rachmaninow”, „Grają uczniowie Liszta”, „Wykonawcy polscy”). He was one of the founders of the Liszt Society in Wrocław and a member of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Society in Bydgoszcz.
