58th Music Festival in Lancut


The 58th Music Festival in Lancut, organised by the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic in Rzeszow, will be held on May 11-26, 2019.

The castle in Lancut – one of the most beautiful magnate residences in Europe – resounded with music in the first decades of the 18th century thanks to the owners of the Castle from the Lubomirski family and later the Potocki family. The concerts of this year's Festival will take place in the Ballroom of the Castle Museum, the Concert Hall of the Podkarpacka Philharmonic and in the Hall of the Hotel Sokol. Open-air concerts will take place at the Courtyard of the Castle in Krasiczyn and in the Bernardine Monastery in Lezajsk.

Participation in the festival will be: The King's Singers, Krzysztof Jabłoński and Rita Shen, Andrzej Jagodziński Trio and Agnieszka Wilczyńska, artists of the Solomiya Kruszelnicka Lviv State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Mara Dobresco and Andrei Kivu, Vincezo Capezzuto and Soqquadro Italiano, Bartłomiej Nizioł and Michał Francuz, as well as Bilkent Symphony Orchestra and Krzysztof Meisinger under the direction of Michael Maciaszczyk.During the open-air concert in Krasiczyn, dedicated to the 200th birth anniversary of Stanisław Moniuszko, the Symphony Orchestra of the Podkarpacka Philharmonic conducted by Jiri Petrdlika will perform with such famous soloists as Urszula Kryger, Rafał Bartmiński, Adam Zdunikowski and Marcin Bronikowski. The concert in the Bernardine Monastery in Lezajsk will take place with the participation of the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra under the baton of Andrzej Kosendiak and the choir of the National Forum of Music. The 58th Music Festival in Lancut will be concluded with the concert of an outstanding opera soloist Piotr Beczała who, in the company of the Polish Chamber Orchestra under Wojciech Rajski, will perform the most beautiful tenor arias of Stanisław Moniuszko, Georges Bizet, Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini.

The programme of the Festival also includes works by Henryk Melcer, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Zygmunt Stojowski and Władysław Żeleński.
