Warsaw | 12th New Town Summer Festival

12th edition of the New Town Summer Festival will take place in Warsaw between 19 July – 4 August 2019.

This year's edition will start at the Dominican Monastery with a recital of excellent violinist Katarzyna Duda accompanimed by pianist Hanna Holeksa who will perform works by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Karol Szymanowski and Henryk Wieniawski. The Sunday concert on 21 July at the St. Mary's Church will feature early music ensemble La Tempesta and foreign guests: cornetist Jeremy West and violinist Tomáš Kardoš, who will perform Mikołaj Zieleński's Communiones.

The second weekend of the Festival will be opened by Joanna Klisowska (soprano) and Katarzyna Neugebauer (piano) who will present nineteenth-century salon music: songs by Stanisław Moniuszko on his 200th birth anniversary and works by Karol Szymanowski and Ignacy Jan Paderewski. On 28 July, Italian pianist Leonora Armellini and Polish cellist Michał Zieliński will present works by Fryderyk Chopin. The last Friday of the Festival will be filled with music by Moniuszko and Chopin in an extremely interesting arrangement for glass harp and verrophone performed by the Wiener Glasharmonika Duo (Austria). In the finale, Warsaw Camerata under the baton of Paweł Kos-Nowicki and pianist Paweł Kowalski will perform Chopin's Concerto in E minor, Op. 11, and Haczewski's Sinfonia in D.
