Warsaw | Ludomir Michał Rogowski in memoriam

A concert on the 65th anniversary of Ludomir Michał Rogowski's death will take place on 24 July 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the University of Warsaw Library (S.B. Linde's Hall) as part on the 12th edition of the July concerts.

The concert will feature oprano Dorota Całek – associate professor at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Arts in Kalisz, pianist Urszula Świerczyńska, who has premiered numerous Polish works, violinist and violist Justyna Górska, a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. We will listen to their renditions of Ludomir Rogowski's songs and instrumental works: Ballade in C minor, Idyll, The Sounds of Hometown, Sonata in G minor, Six Preludes, Propos serieux et plaisants, and Serenade for voice, violin and piano to words by Natalie Clifford-Barney.

The concert will be accompanied by a presentation of valuable manuscripts, letters and photos from the Ludomir Michał Rogowski collections stored in the Polish Composers' Archive at the Music Department of the University of Warsaw Library and a lecture dedicated to the composer's fascinating life and career delivered by his biographer, Urszula Dzierżawska-Bukowska.

Free tickets will be distributed at BUW before entry for readers.
