Radziejowice | A concert of Wiener Glasharmonika Duo

The Wiener Glasharmonika Duo concert will take place on 3 August 2019 at 8 p.m. in the New House of Art in Radziejowice as part of the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Stanisław Moniuszko.

Christa and Gerald Schönfeldinger discovered the world of glass music at the beginning of the 1990s. Today the couple are among the world’s leading performers on the glass armonica and the verrophone. Not only have they succeeded in bringing “historic” playing techniques that have to some extent been handed down over the centuries to a new level of perfection, they have also expanded the scope of performance on glass instruments by adding new techniques and contemporary music aesthetics to create unimagined possibilities of musical sound.

During the concert in Radziejowice, the artists will perform Polish music arranged for glass armonica and verrophon: fragments of The Countess and The Hounted Manor operas and songs by Stanisław Moniuszko, 2 chants from the Polish collections of the Poor Clares, pieces by Fryderyk Chopin, Henryk Wieniawski, Krzysztof Penderecki and Krzysztof Komeda. A special part of the programme will be the premiere of Dumka for Glass Duo by Krzesimir Dębski.

Admission to the concert is free, although seat reservation is required: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
