Kraków | Marek Stachowski – Zbigniew Bujarski. Masters and students

Stachowski Bujarski

A concert "Marek Stachowski – Zbigniew Bujarski" in the "Master and their students" series, organized by the Academy of Music in Kraków and the Board of the Polish Composers' Union – Kraków Branch, will take place on 21 November 2019 at 6 p.m. in the chamber hall of the Academy of Music in Kraków.

The culture passed down from generation to generation is mainly based on the master-student relationship. Hence the series of autumn concerts, entitled "Masters and their students", presenting outstanding composers – educators and their pupils, who are now mature artists. In connection with this year's celebration of the 15th anniversary of the death of Prof. Marek Stachowski and the anniversary of the death of Prof. Zbigniew Bujarski, the fifth edition of the series will be devoted to these composers. The concert will also feature compositions of the students of both Masters – Wojciech Widłak and Marcel Chyrzyński (from the class of Prof. Stachowski) as well as Michael Gatonska and Mendi Mengjiqi (from the class of Prof. Bujarski).

The special guest of the event will be Mendi Mengjiqi – Albanian composer, who currently teaches composition at the University of Music in Pristina (Kosovo). His works are performed in many countries around the world. In 2008, his composition was chosen in the International Competition as the National Anthem of the Republic of Kosovo. The meeting with Mengjiqi will be led by Marcin Strzelecki, PHD – music theorist and composer associated with the Krakow Academy of Music.

Admission to the event is free!
