Warsaw | SUPERSAM + 1: Nina De Heney & Marek Pospieszalski

Nina De Heney and Marek Pospieszalski will participate in the 4th edition of the "Supersam +1" project. The artists will perform together on 28 November 2019 at 8 p.m. in the Płyty Gramofonowe – Warsaw Vinyl Store (11 Ząbkowska St., Warsaw).

“Supersam + 1” is a series of master performances. The project focuses mainly on music, however, it also includes other forms of expression such as: performance, multimedia, monodrama. “Supersam + 1” will present respected Polish and foreign artists whose work is original, experimental and innovative. “SUPER” in the title means that the programme will be based on renowned artists – masters. “SAM” (from Polish, means „alone”, "by himself/herself") refers to the solo performances as well as the creative loneliness. “+ 1” in the title means that each evening will be crowned with a duo performance. In most cases, the artists will meet on stage for the first time..

Nina de Heney has been working in the jazz and improvisation scene in Sweden for many years with a number of groups. Currently she works with pianist Lisa Ullén. She started doing solo performances in 1992, often working with dancers. Her three solo albums Archipelago, 2 and Three have all been critically acclaimed and she has, on several occasions, been nominated for the Swedish Jazz Celebration and received the 2012 Jazz Musician of the Year Award. In addition to this she has been awarded funds from the Swedish Arts Grant on several occasions.

Marek Pospieszalski graduated from the Music Academy in Cracow. He is involved with improvised music, experimental music, and contemporary jazz, nevertheless, he cooperates with hip hop, electronic, rock and pop artists. He is the leader of his own quartet (with Elias Stemeseder, Maks Mucha and Max Andrzejewski), which released the album Marek Pospieszalski gra piosenki, które śpiewał Frank Sinatra. Together with Tomasz Sroczyński he recorded and released the album Bareness. He plays in a duo with Qba Janicki called Malediwy. He is a member of Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet, Kuba Płużek's quartet and Mateusz Pospieszalski's quintet.
