4th Theodor Leschetizky International Piano Competition

4th Theodor Leschetizky International Piano Competition will be held at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater on 22-27 August 2020.

The competition is organised by the Theodor Leschetizky Music Society in Warsaw in cooperation with the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and aims at promoting Polish music, which is compulsory in the programme. 

Jury chaired by prof. Hubert Rutkowski will grant Main Prizes in the total amount of € 12.500 and Special Awards: Chopin Prize (€ 2.000) awarded by Chopin Gesellschaft Hamburg & Sachsenwald and Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Hamburg for the best interpretation of Fryderyk Chopin’s works; Carl Bechstein Prize (€ 1.000) for the best interpretation of works by following composers: Hans von Bülow, Franz Liszt, Claude Debussy or Alexander Skrjabin; Concert Prize: Recital at the Paderewski Festival in Raleigh, USA; Concert Prize: Recital at the Silesian Beethoven Festival in Głogówek, Poland;  Four Cultural Prizes: cultural travel in Poland. Warsaw, Żelazowa Wola (Birthplace of Chopin), Cracow, Zakopane (Szymanowski Museum)

Admitted to participate are students of music universities, academies and conservatories from all countries.
Application deadline: 15 June 2020.
