In Krzysztof Penderecki's Garden

PendereckiThe interactive garden inspired by Krzysztof Penderecki's work is a new project run by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in virtual space. Penderecki’s Garden will premiere on the anniversary of the Maestro’s birth on 23 November 2020. A preview of the project, financed as part of the multi-annual programme NIEPODLEGŁA 2017-2022, is available from 20 May 2020 on the website www.pendereckisgarden.pl.

Penderecki’s Garden is an interactive, continually updated digital project inspired by the life and extraordinary legacy of one of the world’s most outstanding contemporary composers, Krzysztof Penderecki. Through it, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute wishes to pay tribute to the Professor’s memory. Gardening – one of Penderecki’s greatest passions – has been chosen as the leitmotif of this undertaking. By filling the garden with new music and other works inspired by the Polish composer’s oeuvre, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute is highlighting his importance for world culture and allowing internet users all over the globe to discover the legacy of Krzysztof Penderecki, his influence on artists in Poland and around the world, as well the the figure of a man who had a myriad different passions.

The project is created by Polish musicians, including Skalpel, Piotr Orzechowski "Pianohooligan", Paweł Romańczuk, Hania Rani, and Robert Piotrowicz.
