PTMW

The Polish Society for Contemporary Music announces a call for entries for the 13th Competition of the 20th- and 21st- century Music for Young Performers 2020. The competition is under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Due to the pandemic, participants will be interviewed online on 24-30 October 2020. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 October 2020.

The copetition is open to all instrumentalists and vocalists (regardless of citizenship) as well as Polish citizens who study abroad. The competition aims at presenting 20th- and 21st- century music. The programme of the performance must include at least one piece by a Polish composer. One of the selected works must come from the catalog of the PWM Edition, which is available at https://pwm.com.pl.

The jury consists of: Dariusz Przybylski, Anna Dorota Władyczka and Maciej Żółtowski.

The organizers appreciate the huge work and role of teachers in preparing the competition programme. For this reason, each statury prize (except for special prizes for accompanists) will be divided in half between the winner and his teacher. Extra-statutory material prizes will be provided by the PWM Edition.

The winners will be invited to perform at the gala concert on 20 November 2020 at the Władysław Szpilman Polish Radio Studio in Warsaw.

The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the "Music" programme run by the Institute of Music and Dance.
