Mlynarski

A concert on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Emil Młynarski will take place on 20 July 2020 as part of the "Jubilees of Polish composers in the Royal Łazienki" series at the Palace on the Isle in the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw.

Budzyńska – Ogryzek Duo, composed of Zuzanna Budzyńska (violin) and Szymon Ogryzek (piano), will perform chamber works by Emil Młynarski, Henryk Wieniawski, Karol Szymanowski, Romuald Twardowski and Fritz Kreisler. The event will be hosted by Maxymilian Bylicki.

Conductor, violinist, teacher and composer Emil Młynarski was born on 18 July 1870 in Kibarty near Suwałki and died on 5 April 1935 in Warsaw. A graduate of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory gave concerts with great success in all then important cultural centres in Europe and the United States. He quickly gained recognition as a violin virtuoso and conductor, collaborating with the most prestigious orchestras. His most outstanding musical work is considered to be Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 11, which was awarded at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Composition Competition in Leipzig in 1898. He was a persistent promoter of Polish music, presenting newly created Polish operas and ballets. In 1925 he organized the Polish Music Festival in Paris.

The concert is organised by the Institute of Music and Dance from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Admission is free, but prior booking is required: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
