"With classics through Poland" – 2020 edition

IMiT

After the break caused by the pandemic, the Polish Music Management at the Institute of Music and Dance resumes the series of concerts "With classics through Poland". The inaugural concert will take place on 17 July 2020 at 6.00 p.m. in the Baptist Christian Church in Szczytno.

The aim of the project, which began in the second half of 2019, is to bring music performed by the most outstanding Polish artists to smaller community centres, cities, towns and villages; to reach audiences who have difficult access to classical music. Through contact with the great art and artists, new audiences are being introduced to the world of classical chamber music, having a chance to become its new enthusiasts. 51 such concerts have already been organized, with over 40 artists and 9,000 listeners.

This year's edition of the project will feature around 60 concerts all over Poland. The programme will include chamber music with particular emphasis on Polish works. Apart from well-known artists, a new generation of young performers will present their skills. The upcoming concerts will feature Książek Piano Duo, Anna Radziejewska, Milena Lange, Paweł Sommer, Marta Gidaszewska, Robert Łaguniak, Janusz Olejniczak, Katarzyna Drogosz, Atma Quartet, Olga Pasiecznik, Zuzanna Nalewajek and Dagmara Barna.

During the next concert, we will hear chamber works for flutes and piano by Antonio Vivaldi, Józef Elsner and Władysław Żeleński performed by Agata Kielar-Długosz and Łukasz Długosz (flute) and Marek Toporowski (historical piano).

Admission to the event is free.

The project is implemented thanks to the support and under the patronage of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, prof. Piotr Gliński.
