Warsaw | 4th Polish Music Convention

IMiT

The 4th Polish Music Convention, organized by the Institute of Music and Dance, will take place on 5-7 November 2020 at the Powiśle Power Plant in Warsaw.

The aim of the Polish Music Convention is to review the possibilities and challenges of Polish music from the perspective of creators, performers and institutions. During the meeting, an attempt will be made to define the development and promotion potential of Polish music. For each area discussed, an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the current situation as well as the opportunities and threats facing Polish music will be carried out.

The discussion panels will be divided into two parts. The first part will be filled with subject sessions, the aim of which is to present the achievements of Polish music in its various genre and historical forms (early, folk, sacred, 19th and 20th century music, contemporary music, jazz, song). The second part of the convention will consist of problem sessions devoted to financing music, music criticism, export and promotion of Polish music, as well as the challenges of music management and activities during a pandemic. Parallel panels are not planned during the convention. All sessions will be held consecutively in one room, thus everyone will be given the opportunity to participate in each panel.

The papers will be published on the convention website before the convention begins, so that participants can get acquainted with them in advance. As a result, each panel will be devoted mainly to substantive discussion of all participants.

The convention will be broadcast live on the website http://www.konwencjamuzyki.pl/ and the YouTube channel of the Institute of Music and Dance. People watching the broadcast will be able to ask questions and submit comments to the discussion via the chat function.
