Gdańsk | 11th Euro Chamber Music Festival

The 11th Euro Chamber Music Festival Gdańsk – the largest international festival of chamber music in northern Poland – will run from 16 October to 22 November 2020.

The Festival received the prestigious EFFE (Europe For Festivals Festivals For Europe) label for 2019-2020, awarded by the European Festival Association for the most interesting festival events in Europe. It has hosted such famous artists as Leszek Możdżer, Apollon Musagète Quartett, MoCarta Group, Janusz Wawrowski, Jerzy and Maciej Stuhr, Krystyna Janda, Wiktor Zborowski, Kayah & Royal String Quartet, and Władysław Gudonis Komendarek.

This year's edition will feature recognized domestic and foreign chamber musicians, including Anna Maria Staśkiewicz, Jozef Luptàk, Quatuor Adastra, Split Guitar Quartet, Petra & Patrik Jablonsk, as well as young laureates of international music competitions and outstanding instrumentalists of the young generation in the Polish Rising Music Stars series. We will hear masterpieces of European composers and Polish contemporary music, including works by Mieczysław Karłowicz and Krzysztof Penderecki. The key event of the Festival will be a performance of Daniel Olbrychski and Duo del Gesù with letters and music by this year's great jubilarian, Ludwig van Beethoven. The festival will also include the 6th Baltic String Duo Competition.
