Chamber Music Competition for youth

KonkursThe Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź and the Stanisław Liszewski Foundation announce the 2nd Wiłkomirski National Chamber Music Competition, addressed to students of primary and secondary music schools. Instrumental chamber ensembles, from duet to quintet, of any composition (excluding ensembles with organ and harpsichord) may participate in the Competition, which will be held on 22-24 April 2021 in a single-stage mode. Applications will be accepted by e-mail until 20 March 2021.

Due to its open programme formula, the competition is a unique event that gives artistically talented youth the opportunity to confront each other in the field of chamber music in a group of different compositions. In connection with the celebration of the May 3rd Constitution Year passed by the Sejm, the organisers also decided to include in the programme an obligation to perform one piece by a Polish composer, for which special prizes are provided for each age group in the form of participation in concerts organized by the Stanisław Liszewski Foundation and the the Academy of Music in Łódź. The competition jury will consist of outstanding instrumentalists – teachers of Polish music academies who are recognized authorities in the field of chamber music, and their teaching experience also includes working with talented youth from music schools. The Honorary Chairman of the Organizing Committee is Her Magnificence Rector of the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, dr hab. Elżbieta Aleksandrowicz, prof. AM.
