"Spectrum 421 – Pandemic Media Space" is a new project of the Electroacoustic Music Studio of the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, the Ukrainian Association of Electroacoustic Music and the Polish Society for Electroacoustic Music. The results of this international project will be presented on 13 April 2021 at 6.00 p.m.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has brought together composers and visual artists from Poland and Ukraine, who created the "Pandemic Project" www.pandemic-media-space.com. It uses the Connection Interpretation Algorithm and a MIDI generator to convert environmental, geolocation, and medical statistics into specific types of musical information. Thus, this tool enables the processing of information about the world into a global musical instrument.
13 Polish and Ukrainian composers used data about our planet to create their new algorithmic pieces. On 13 April we will hear these innovative compositions by Yuri Bulka, Konrad Gęca, Olena IInytska, Michał Janocha, Alisa Kobzar, Ostap Kostiuk, Artur Lis, Piotr Madej, Paweł Malinowski, Ostap Manulyak, Danyl Pertsov, Teonika Rożynek and Monika Szpyrka.
