3rd Szczecin Classic Festival 2021

SzczecinClassicThe third edition of the Szczecin Classic festival will take place between 26 April and 3 May 2021 under the slogan "O-Class-ki", with most events streamed online on Facebook.

Tango beats in our hearts constantly, but this year, due to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, it has found a special place and almost completely absorbed the festival programme. In addition to chamber and symphonic evening concerts, the festival will offer the residents of Szczecin a series of accompanying events: morning gymnastics with classical music in the park; musical happenings in the city centre; open Baroque dance classes; open lectures for future artists, and a show of the Stradivarius violin.

Among the distinguished artists invited to the Festival are Vasko Vassilev and Andriy Viytovych, concertmasters and leaders of The Royal Opera House in London; the concertmaster of Baltic Neopolis Orchestra – Emanuel Salvador, Konstantin Heidrich; Tomasz Tomaszewski, cellist of the Faure Quartet; and Michał Francuz, the concertmaster of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and distinguished Polish pianist. The established group of artists and professors will be further enriched by Krzysztof Węgrzyn, Profesor of Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover since 1993.

The programme of this year's edition also includes music of Polish composers: Juliusz Zarębski, Alexander Tansman, Ludomir Różycki and Mikołaj Górecki.
