Kuyavia full of musical turmoil!

TOS13 events will take place between 31 May and 28 August 2021 as part of the Toruń Symphony Orchestra project "Kujawy pełne muzycznej wrzawy!" [Kuyavia full of musical turmoil!] : 12 chamber concerts carried out in 6 educational and care institutions and the final symphonic concert. The aim of the project is to popularize the cultural heritage of the region and strengthen durability of folk traditions among the local community with limited access to cultural events.

A mini-series of two concerts with Kuyavian music performed by a folk band and dancers, and with pieces by Polish composers referring to native folklore, will take place in Świecie, Steklinek, Kikół, Obrów, Wąbrzeźno and Kowalewo Pomorskie. The events will be hosted by experienced announcers.

Concerts "A dzień dobry Kujawy!" [Good Morning Kuyavia!] on 31 May – 15 June will be devoted to folk music from the Kuyavia region. The folk band Toruniacy and a dance couple will present songs from the Kuyavia region arranged by their own ensemble. The "Muzyka Polska" [Polish Music] concerts on 15-30 June will feature works by Polish composers interpreted by outstanding artists of the young generation. Piano trio composed of students of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz will perform pieces by Andrzej Panufnik, Henryk Wieniawski, Oskar Kolberg, Fryderyk Chopin, Feliks Rybicki, Kazimierz Wiłkomirski and Wojciech Kilar. The final concert "Kujawy symfonicznie" [Kuyavia Symphonically] on 28 August at the CKK Jordanki Concert Hall in Toruń will be hosted by musicologist Piotr Matwiejczuk. The works by Fryderyk Chopin, Michał Kleofas Ogiński, Władysław Żeleński, Magdalena Cynk, Wojciech Kilar and Romuald Twardowski will be performed by the Toruń Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the Lithuanian conductor Dainius Pavilionis.
