Częstochowa | "Music in the Temples"

Collegium Cantorum"Muzyka w świątyniach" ("Music in the Temples") is a unique, mystical journey through time, accompanied by to the soothing sounds of sacred choral music. The concert on 22 June 2021 at 7.00 p.m. at the Sanctuary of St. Anthony of Padua will be performed by the Collegium Cantorum Choir of the Częstochowa Philharmonic under the direction of maestro Janusz Siadlak.

The musicians will present works by Juliusz Łuciuk and Andrzej Koszewski. The choir will perform for the first time in front of the audience the pieces included in their two albums, which premiere is scheduled after the summer holidays.

Traditionally, music will be accompanied by a background story – about the parish, its past, and important events in the Częstochowa region. Dr Juliusz Sętowski, head of the History of Częstochowa Documentation Centre, will guide the participants through the meanders of history. Specially designed lighting will create a mystical atmosphere and emphasize the architectural details of the temple.

The project is co-financed by the Częstochowa City Hall and the Polish History Museum as part of the "Patriotism of Tomorrow" programme.
