The final concert of the 62nd Tadeusz Baird Competition for Young Composers was followed by an online Jury meeting on 19 June 2021. After listening to the recording of the concert on the Polish Composers' Union YouTube channel and Soundcloud, the Jury decided to award three prizes and one honourable mention.
The Jury composed of: Olga Hans (chairwoman), Aldona Nawrocka (secretary), Marcin Bortnowski, Artur Kroschel and Justyna Kowalska-Lasoń listened to the following pieces: Isomorphic Reflection for 4 clarinets (Coal2 emblem), ... Breathe for 4 violins (emblem D.502) ), Grand Père for 4 trumpets (Lavage de cerveaux emblem), Kanczendzong for 4 trumpets (Perseus emblem), Secco for 4 clarinets (TotoXro emblem), Co w lesie piszczy for 4 clarinets (XXX12321 emblem).
The Jury decided that the Tadeusz Baird Award should be divided as follows: the 1st prize was not awarded, while three 2nd prizes were awarded eq aequo to the works ... Breathe, Kanchendzonga and Secco. An honourable mention was awarded to the work Co w lesie piszczy.
After opening the envelopes, it turned out that the authors of the awarded works are: Olgierd Juzala-Deprati –… Breathe, Hubert Żmudzki – Kanczendzonga, Alina Dzięcioł – Secco and Bogusz Lewandowski – Co w lesie piszczy.
The award ceremony will take place, if the pandemic situation allows, during the 64th "Warsaw Autumn" International Festival of Contemporary Music.
