Wrocław | Organ Summer at NFM

NFMOn summer evenings, between 7 July and 18 August 2021, the National Forum of Music invites you to the Main Hall to listen to organ recitals by Józef Serafin, Elżbieta Karolak, Julian Gembalski and Roman Perucki. The concerts will be an opportunity to get to know a very wide spectrum of organ literature written over the centuries (from Baroque, through Romanticism, to our times).

In recent months, Wrocław music lovers did not have many opportunities to listen to organ concerts at the NFM. It is the pandemic that has played "first fiddle", making it impossible to share the beautiful sound of this instrument. The upcoming recitals will feature music of various eras, including improvisations by Julian Gembalski and works by Feliks Nowowiejski. The audience, partly seated on the stage, will also have the opportunity to see the work of the organist, as well as the mechanics and working principles of this largest instrument ever invented!

The pipe organ at the National Forum of Music outclasses a symphony orchestra in terms of volume, sound and timbre. The instrument was designed and made by organ builders from the Orgelbau Klais Bonn workshop, which boasts over one hundred years of tradition and experience. Its regal sound  perfectly match the acclaimed NFM acoustic. The wonderful organ repertoire of the past centuries will be brought to life at the NFM, and the opportunity to play contemporary organ works will open the way to getting acquainted with new compositions.
