Warsaw | 5th WarszeMusik Festival

A series of WarszeMuzik chamber concerts will be held for the fifth time in the backyards of Warsaw tenement houses and in the extraordinary space of the Umschlagplatz Monument. From 1 do 29 August 2021, the festival organisers invite you to 11 micro-concerts and 3 walking tours in the former Northern District led by Agnieszka Kuś, co-author of the guide Weinberg's Warsaw, which is scheduled to premiere at the beginning of September.

The festival will present a very diverse repertoire corresponding with the space of preserved buildings: from classical music, among others by the patron of the festival, Mieczysław Weinberg, and Andrzej Czajkowski, through improvisations to poetry by Irena Klepfisz and the imaginary sounds of the Syrena Rekord studio, to the works of contemporary music composers. The finale of the festival, which will take place at BarStudio, will premiere Interweaving for wooden flute and historical piano by Andrzej Karałow – the composer in residence at WarszeMuzik 2021. The piece was created as part of the "Composing Commissions" programme carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

In the courtyards at 26a Ogrodowa, 99 Żelazna, 62 Złota, 55 Sienna, 20 and 41 Chłodna street, concerts will be perform by: Andrzej Ciepliński, Marek Bracha, Marta Grzywacz, Aleksandra Kaca, Ania Karpowicz, Dominik Strycharski, Maria Sławek, Mikołaj Pałosz and Anna Kwiatkowska. The Sunday events of WarszeMuzik will also return to the contemplative space of the Umschlagplatz Monument at Stawki street. Four concerts will be filled with classical music with piano as lead instrument. Among the performers there will be Julia Kociuban, Radosław Sobczak, Wajnberg Piano Trio and the originators and curators of WarszeMuzik – Ania Karpowicz and Marek Bracha.
