Szczecin | 7th Real Musicians Tournament live again!

Turniej Muzyków PrawdziwychOn 1-5 September 2021, the Real Musicians Tournamentat will be held at the Szczecin Philharmonic for the seventh time. Musicians and singers from all over the country will meet in the capital of Western Pomerania to present the richness of musical and dance traditions of various regions of Poland in the tournament struggle. The inaugural concert "Classical Boarderland" will take place on 3 September at 7.00 p.m.

Auditions of instrumentalists will take place in the form of a duel on a specially built stage in the Philharmonic hall. Thus, the organisers refer to the Polish Folk Instrumentalists Tournament organised in Gryfino on the initiative of the animator Edward Mojsak – a cymbalist from Belarus, who settled in West Pomerania. This year, everyone who qualifies for the September competition will receive the title of laureate. The Tournament will commemorate the difficult stories of Polish families living in the former Eastern Borderlands and Siberians in connection with the cultivated and recreated traditional musical culture.

An integral part of the True Musicians Tournament from the beginning of its existence is the inaugural concert performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Philharmonic in Szczecin. In 2021, due to the borderland theme, the musicians of the orchestra under the direction of Miłosz Bembinow will perform a classical repertoire referring to the traditional culture of the eastern territories of the Second Polish Republic, taking the audience on a journey from the Vilnius region, through Nowogródek, to the lands of Stanisławów. The repertoire will include works written by composers from the former Eastern Borderlands (Romuald Twardowski and Roman Palester), as well as the premiere performance of the Piano Concerto by Mateusz Czarnowski, inspired by the work of Edward Mojsak.
