Kraków | "Great Encounters" – 75th Birthday of PWM Edition

PWMFrom the very beginning, the aim of PWM Edition was to bring people closer through music – whether as part of educational activities, by facilitating access to sheet music, or finally by shaping tastes and popularizing what is best in Polish culture. Summarizing 75 years of development and documenting history, PWM invites you on 13 October 2021 at 7.00 p.m. to the ICE Kraków Congress Centre for a meeting with live music, which is a look back as well as into the future.

The anniversary concert will be held in Krakow for a reason  it was here in 1945 that Tadeusz Ochlewski decided to open PWM Edition and to give rise to one of the most important Polish cultural institutions today.

"Great Encounters"  a concert with this meaningful title will feature excellent violinist, composer and arranger Adam Bałdych, jazz pianist Krzysztof Herdzin, jazz saxophonist Adam Pierończyk, as well as Adam Sztaba, an artist balancing between genres, alongside pop rock singer Igor Herbut. The musicians will be accompanied by the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy led by Maestro Marek Moś. The programme will include works by iconic Polish composers – Henryk Wieniawski, Fryderyk Chopin, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Stanisław Moniuszko and Karol Szymanowski  reinterpreted by contemporary artists.

Anaklasis' Great Encounters will also be released on 13 October  this time on vinyl. The album will contain material that was previously released on CD, giving the music a new sonic dimension.
