Gliwice | Gliwice Chamber Orchestra's Anniversary

GOKThe Gliwice Chamber Orchestra will close it's 20th anniversary celebration on 9 October 2021 at 6 p.m. with a concert from the series "Masterful Interpretations" at the Scena Bojków Hall (5 Parkowa St.) in Gliwice-Bojków.

The "Masterful Interpretations" series has been realized by the Gliwice Chamber Orchestra since 2005. Thanks to the collaboration with the Youth Cultural Centre in Gliwice, the ensemble will perform for the first time in a new hall of the Scena Bojków.

The programme of the concert will refer to the online concert recorded by the Gliwice Chamber Orchestra in the Jerzy Harald Studio of Polish Radio Katowice as part of the National Centre for Culture's programme "Culture on the Web". Thanks to the STOART's support, the concert was released on CD, which is now available on sale both online and in selected music stores. The online concert and the CD are also available at www.gliwickaorkiestra.pl.

The Gliwice Chamber Orchestra will perform under the baton of the outstanding Polish conductor of the young generation Maciej Tomasiewicz, assistant to Andrzej Boreyko at the Warsaw Philharmonic and artistic director of the Silesian Chamber Orchestra. This famous artist also led the orchestra during the recording of the anniversary CD. Piotr Sałajczyk – a renowned Polish pianist, chamber musician and teacher, winner of the "Fryderyk" and "Orpheus" awards – will perform as the soloist. The artists will present Mieczysław Karłowicz's Serenade, Op.2, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concerto in A major KV 414 and Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 45 'Farewell'.

The concert is financed from the budget of the city of Gliwice.
