Krakow | Art Forum Festival

Art ForumThe Art Forum Festival in Krakow – a new interdisciplinary project of the Art Forum Foundation, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year  – will run from 1 October to 20 November 2021. The Festival will feature concerts, performances, concert installations, an international scientific conference and the 8th Concert of Premieres of Accordion Works.

The concept of the festival is based on the social and sociological aspect of contemporary music in Poland. Contemporary classical music is commonly associated with elitism, inaccessibility and difficulty in perception. The festival aims to show its different face by entering into a dialogue with the listener, presenting the background of works by contemporary artists and performing their latest compositions.

The programme of this year's festival will include works by Benjamin Baczewski, Bożena Bob-Dyg, Maciej Zimka, Aleksander Brych (Poland), Peter Machajdík (Slovakia), Tyler Versulis (Canada), Viacheslav Kyrylov and Artur Kryvych (Ukraine). Among the performers will be Polish and foreign artists: the German Werkbühne Leipzig collective, Slovak organist Stanislav Šurin, Italian accordionist Claudio Jacomucci, Sirius Accordion Quintet, Alek Janicki, Maria Sławek and Marcin Zdunik.

The events will take place at the St. Martin's Church, the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music, Hevre, the St. Catherine of Alexandria Church and the Palace of Fine Arts in Krakow.

The project is co-financed by the City of Krakow.
